A Rabbit In The Headlights
Today’s not unexpected news is that the UK job market is weakening rapidily, with the number of permanent jobs available dropping at a record rate. If you are one of the many thousands of job seekers affected by redundancy, or fearing the worst, what are you going to do? Be pro-active, or freeze like a rabbit in the headlights?
Losing your job can be devastating. You can expect to go through a range of emotions, high and low. You will cycle through fear, anger, bafflement, acceptance, relief, even exhilaration. All of these will affect your mood. But none will get you a job.

When you are hit by redundancy in a recession you can’t leave your job search to chance. It is essential to try to get ahead of the game. That means going out there, meeting people, looking for opportunities, getting your name around, stepping outside your comfort zone. Networking for all you are worth. But networking is not something that most people are comfortable with.
