Outplacement services are offered by companies when they are letting a segment of their employees go in a layoff situation.  Many times the companies are offering these services as a way to help their former employees find new employment and get back on track after the devastating loss of their job.  For many people, outplacement services are a lifesaver that have gotten them back in a new employment situation much faster than they would have if they had looked for a job on their own.

While it may be difficult to accept the outplacement services that are being offered to you, it is important that you don't let your pride get in the way of finding a new job.  You are still a valuable and skilled employee and finding a new job will get you back on the road to recovery after your job loss.  Outplacement are a valuable way to hasten that return to the workforce.
